Finally back to training!

After not running during the week (due to injury, cold and work) and only running races, I finally got a training run in with the group. It was really pleasant. My feet were still feeling a bit tender from Sunday.

On each Tuesday run I would always hate this little section next to the playground just before we get out onto the ridge. It is pea gravel and this time i went over it and didn’t even hardly notice it. Thank you Drumheller gravel paths! It’s all perspective and experience people!! Yay for barefoot bravado!

Here is our ridge run. It is a very nice place to run.

It was very cold out tonight, almost freezing temps! The group did well tho. The hot beverage at the Good Earth is always welcome after a run like this. mmmm Vanilla Bean Tea for me tonight.

I was up at 5am and on the highway this morning for a 3 hour jaunt over the Rocky Mountain Range to Invermere, BC to look at a project. At one point of our journey we interrupted these two having  a tasty breakfast.

They were some annoyed with us, and they took off and did this to the first vehicle in their way.

Not really, but this wasn’t here 3 hours earlier when we came by, and ironically  it had one of those bumper stickers that are put on upside down and says “if you can read this, flip me over!”

In other news, the 2010 *10-10* race is off to a flying start with lots of people committing to lots of miles! How fun. The prizes have started to come in and there will be plenty more for you awesome Cool Kids!

Remember to put this tag on your Blog so we can get as many runners as possible in this race! Thanks for playing!

Now, let’s beat my 5k gravel race into the ground shall we? Here is a photo of the start at Sundays race that I found at www.Drumhelleronline.com Click the pic for the whole story if you are interested. Look closely to see me. I can be seen in the middle between the 2 kids in black outfits. Look  close. Squint if you have to. I am a freaking giant. hooo.

Here are 2 videos that were taken by the Tyrrell Museum PR guy. He said that I will be in the promotional video for next years race. Hopefully I am at least 30lbs lighter and no one recognizes me.

It was very weird for me to stare into a camera and talk to no one. But now it’s cool because it’s like I am talking to me from my computer. We made this talkie in only 1 take, can you believe it!! *WOoT*

I have an interval run tomorrow evening, a 5k race at noon on Thursday downtown (bye bye old PR! flat concrete course) And then a 10k Race on Sunday. Have I told you how much I love Racing?

  • Barefoot mileage since June 29th : 145km
  • VFF mileage since July 7th : 37.8km (12 on trails)
  • Shoe mileage since SOBF (start of barefoot): 5km (25:30 5k race PR on July 1st)

    2. Sigh ... I miss Teh Loose Moose ...

Way to run with the kiddies to make yourself seem tallre, fastre and, um ... what's the third thing?

I'm going with "less Kanadian" ... because the Kanadian thing is my go-to thing when I come up empty on the quip front.

      It's funny cos I spell it with a "K".

[Please note the Kanadian spellings of "fastre" and "tallre". It took tonnes of research to figure out you people can't spell.]

      have you seen this? http://www.warriordash.com/register2010_mid-atlantic.php

it's on your birthday - I'll miss it this year but next year you are definitely going to have to run it with me

... hmmm it took me some time to realize that's not how you park in Alberta.

BTW you are such a great poster boy for this - such a great thank you to Drumheller - my thank you would be complaining or something saying I was from Toronto and there was no evian in bottles or something like that. Or there was a hair in my burger. ... dunno ... guys from Toronto don't make it as poster boys.
