This video was taken moments after my decision to DNF my marathon. I will have a full report by Tuesday evening…
Speaking of Chipseal… here is what the bottom of my feet looked like about 20 minutes after… yeah, that really sucked a little bit. Like stepping on the tips of needles.
Ouch! That's such a bummer! Hope your feet heal quickly!
ReplyDeletedude, it's like you have concave cleats on. Gnarly. Sorry about the DNF...
ReplyDeleteYeow. That's why I'm too scared to run bare-foot. Those feet look in need of a little TLC.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine running that far barefoot...though then maybe I wouldn't be sporting the disgusting blisters I have now. Can't wait to hear more about your race! I've definitely had those races and runs where I was reminded all over again about the importance of training. Of course, those were shorter distances I'd run in the past...sounds like you could've had this with a little more protection for the feet, so it sounds like you were playing it smart.
ReplyDeleteYikes, that looks like it was painful. I agree that you probably had this with the vibrams. Next time! Good job on 31K Neil, that's amazing in itself!
ReplyDeleteOuch. You should hear me complain when I get a pebble stuck in the treads of my high cushioning shoes. Guess I should just zip it! Good job.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Good decision. Hope you heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteOUCHY! THAT WOULD BE ANNOYING AND PAINFUL! sorry for the caps... didn't realize they were on and now i'm too lazy to delete and retype ;) lol
ReplyDeleteyoure my hero!
ReplyDeleteOuch. but good for you for toughing it out as much as you could!
ReplyDeleteOuch! They sort of look like my feet.
